Marvel comics had a huge success with the comic book Tomb of Dracula. It ran for most of the 1970's and was canceled in 1979 with its 70th issue. In 1982 DC comics attempted to fill the void that it left with the book Night Forces. It was about a group of people who investigated strange occult crimes. It seemed they had every chance of success by hiring Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan who wrote and drew most of the stories in Tomb of Dracula. Sadly this was not to be as it only lasted 14 issues. It ran from 1982 to 1983. They tried it again in December of 1996 but the series ran only 12 issues and was canceled in November of 1997.
The above letterhead is from the letters pages of issue #4 in 1982.
